You guys! I made my first coat! AND I took part in my first sewalong. It was a really fun project to work on. Colette patterns are always such a joy to work with. This was also the first pattern that I've really made some heavy modifications to. Being a mens/unisex coat, I had to modify large portions to make sure the coat didn't swallow me up, but it was pretty easy with the Albion Sewalong Guide. To make it more feminine and fitting I shortened the coat quite a bit, made the body smaller and slightly fitted, made the front and back yolks narrower at the shoulder, made the sleeves narrower, and changed the patch pockets to heart pockets <3 And I love how it turned out! It's comfortable and stylish, something I feel really proud to wear around! I'm all ready for Autumn now. Just in time too! x

  8. how do you find having buttons on the top part of the front only, and having the bottom open like that - does it splay out in the wind?
