My pregnancy notebook that my midwife writes my progress in currently says:
Well and waiting.
Let me tell you, it is SO hard to be this near the end of the pregnancy and not feel antsy! Trying to find contentment is harder and harder. I'm finding I really have to dig deep and trust in God and His timing and it's harder than I thought. To counteract the restlessness and anxiousness I've been feeling, I've been counting my blessings. I soon realize that all of the good FAR outweighs the waiting.
I have the most fantastic husband, ever. That's a fact.
We are incredibly blessed beyond belief in our marriage, the things God has provided for us, and the fact that baby is really healthy.
So blessed. And even if none of that were true, I can still find peace in God knowing that we are in His hands. At this point I am just being impatient and that's a place I don't want to be!
So in the meantime, me and the Mister have been busy with the last of the preparations for baby. We bought some bottles, a rocker/recliner bouncer thingy (courtesy of my sister and her husband), and the cutest little brown pants you ever did see. And since I have so much time waiting on Baby van der Wel's arrival, I decided to make a little miniature hoodie!

Wah! It's so cute! I can't wait to dress up our little Bean!
Keep us in your prayers! We will keep you posted. Come on, Bean. We are ready to meet you. Pretty please?

P.S. - The pattern for the little knit hoodie can be found here! Aw!
I've officially made it to 37 weeks. If Beansy were born now the baby would be considered full term and not preem. I am so proud of my body for making it this far. I am so thankful to God that all is well. For now we continue to wait and pray for our baby.
We are literally on the brink of changing our lives forever. These are the last few weeks it will be just me and Phil. Not long and I will be in labor. We'll be able to hold our baby in our arms. We will be parents. It all makes me a little emotional just thinking about it all. It's a little overwhelming but I'm trying my best to soak up these moments and these feelings before they are gone forever.
I have been feeling great! 'Great' is really an understatement though. My hips miraculously don't hurt and click anymore. The baby has moved down and is fully engaged in my pelvis which took the pressure off my back and hips. I can walk up and down stairs! I don't need help getting in and out of bed. I can move and be without wanting to cry from the pain. It's incredible. I feel the best I've felt in my whole pregnancy. It really is amazing.
Even though my pregnancy hasn't been easy, I will miss it. I've grown to really love my belly and the curve that it makes. I love feeling the baby move and roll around. I love that I can feel where the baby's tiny feet are (usually in my ribs, oof!) and the tiny little baby bum. My favorite is when the baby gets hiccups. It's so precious and sweet being able to feel the constant thump-thump of the hiccups that belong to the new life within me. I will miss rubbing my belly and wondering what the baby will be like, but soon we will know. I look forward to seeing whose eyes and whose nose will be passed down. I look forward to seeing what sort of personality the baby will have and what things interest and shape them.
I also look forward to the little things, like being able to bend over and pick up shoes off the ground without groaning and straining. I can't wait to lie on my stomach again. I can't wait to wear my old clothes again. I can't wait to have an egg sunny-side up. It's the little things.
Not long now. I can't believe all of this and more is about to happen.
Somebody pinch me.

... until Bean's due date!
I can hardly wait to meet this little one and finally find out whether the Bean I've been baking is a boy or a girl.
I've been scouring the craft world looking for cute things to make for the baby and there's so many cute gender specific things! Can't wait to know which I'll be able to make for the baby!

I've been knitting up a storm and still have quite a few things on my list to do before the baby arrives! I've been running really low on energy lately and naps are becoming a must these days. Hopefully we will get everything sorted in time!
Anyone want to help me sort a storage room and make it into a baby room? Yes, we're cutting it close. I know.

SIX WEEKS TO GO! Until the Bean's due date that is!!
Pretty crazy exciting isn't it?
It is so rainy and cold here right now! It's PERFECT weather to be cozied up inside knitting, which is exactly what I've been spending a lot of my time doing. I've been knitting up a storm. I started and finished a vest (which is not pictured because it is still drying after two days. Grrr.), finished spinning 650 yards of merino/tencel yarn, and a tiny little beanie to keep our Little warm.

Phil made the wooden buttons for me right before we were engaged! He was still in Australia and I was in Texas and we mailed little things back and forth. I've been saving them and I can't think of a better use for the buttons than for our own little one. They are quite special.
If you're interested in making your own Little a special little hat or for some other Little you know here is the pattern I used:
Ruth's Perfect Fit Baby Hat
The yarn I used was my own handspun yarn and I didn't follow the pattern exactly as I used a thinner yarn than the pattern called for.
Next up? Bean's baby blanket out of the yarn I was working on last week.
