Nesting

We are...

It's starting to hit me in a big way: nesting.

All of a sudden I need to get my house in order and decorated. It's the weirdest thing. And honestly, we still aren't totally unpacked from when we moved into our house aaaannd some of my clothes might still be in suitcases. Kind of embarassing. I know.

I have a list a mile long of things I want to do. I'm dying to repaint the craft room and get some art up on the walls! I need to separate my winter and summer and pre-pregnancy clothes. I want to cook a bunch of frozen meals in preparation for the Bean's arrival. I want to set up little nooks around the house with our little personal touches.

I want our house to look awesome.

Unfortunately, I'm (sorta) on rest at the moment and I'm not supposed to be walking around a lot so it has slowed my nesting progress quite a bit. BUT that doesn't mean that ideas are whirling around in my head! I've started decorating bits here and there and, though the progress is slow, I am loving it.

Love and Lace

My vision involves decorating on the cheap and using vintage and up-cycled items. It is totally changing my way of looking at things and seeing how I could potentially use them to decorate our home or make them into something new. The Mister is also very good at this and has great vision for old things. My goodness, I love that man.

What are some ways that you've decorated your living space?

Dream Vintage Couch

Last week we purchased and picked up my dream vintage couch set.

It is so gorgeous and it's in absolutely perfect condition.
I'm having a major couch crush right now.
Is that possible?? Heart.

We scored the set for a whopping 110 bucks. A-MAZING! The living room is so cozy and the sun streams in perfectly in the evening. I'm feeling really blessed these days.

Welcome to Our Humble Abode

Friday we took possession of our house. Our house!!! It feels so awesome to have a place of our own that we'll build our lives and memories in.

We haven't moved in yet, but we've started demolitions and fix-ups right away! We plan to move in the house this Tuesday after the new carpet is installed. The old carpet was so yuck.

Seriously, ew.

I snapped a few shots Friday evening but the light was fading fast so I didn't get the greatest shots.

Here is the backyard which is off the carport to the left of the house. The back entrance sort of acts as the main entrance of the house at the moment. Eventually we'd like to change the front door (which is currently a sliding door) to be the main entrance. All in due time!

The backyard is really beautiful actually. There are some incredible flowers in the flowerbeds and I can't wait to add our veggie garden into the mix.

When you step inside you walk into the living room. The living room is quite large with a wood burner for cozy winters. Mmmm!!

Beyond the living room is the kitchen and dining room.

(Note the tiny space for a fridge and the red counter-tops. Haha! Not really my fave.)

diningroom

Off the dining room is a long hallway leading to all the bedrooms of the house, the laundry, and the bathroom.

Bedroom 1 (Quite a large room, I think the original master bedroom?)

Bedroom 2 (Still big, though slightly smaller)

Through the master bedroom is a small nursery or 4th bedroom. I know it as my future craft room. I can't wait to decorate it and have a place to organize all my craft stuff! It's like a dream come true.

There is lots that needs doing on the house, but it's so exciting to us! We have a place to call home and make our own. It's an exciting next chapter of our married life.

8 Days!

You can purchase this print at Vol25.

We will officially be home owners in 8 days!

We bought a sweet little 4 bedroom home here in Hamilton and I am so excited to have our own house! We have been staying with Phil's folks and this will be our first place together since we have been married.

We have lots of plans for the place and plan to replace the carpet as the first thing we do. We have lots of seedlings that we started growing and will transplant the veggie garden as soon as we move in!

Also, we're getting a cat. Yay!!!!

I can't wait to take pictures and show you all! Start the countdown!

We're moving in SOON!
