The problem was that I couldn't decide on a pattern to knit the yarn into. I came up with a few patterns myself but I wasn't pleased with any of them... after I finished knitting the towel. Twice.
(Yes, Jean. I ripped it out a second time.)
Knitting the towel was just not working out the way I envisioned. So I dusted off the loom and decided to weave the towel instead...
And I LOVE how it turned out!
It feels good to finally finish a project that was giving me so much grief! I have a few other projects in the works and I can't wait to share them with you, including a cute and easy DIY!

@Elsie: Thanks, Elsie! I LOVE my loom.
ReplyDelete@Sunshine Monica: The loom takes awhile to "dress" but once it's all ready it's a zip to weave! I'd guess the whole thing took me a total of around 3 hours, which is not bad compared to knitting ;)
@My Best Friend Jules: Ah! I LOVE this color. It's my all time favorite and I can't seem to steer away from it.
xoxo
Wow so pretty, I love the color!
ReplyDeletetalia, i just came across your site! I LOVE your towel...how clever and beautiful! what yarn did you use? and what fibers is it made of?
ReplyDeletethis is AMAZING!! so impressed.
ReplyDelete@Susan: The towel is made from a worsted weight organic cotton yarn. I can't find the label (but I know it's around) but I remember the yarn being from a UK company. If I find it I will let you know! The fabric border is also cotton, but from some scraps I had leftover from a quilt I made last year.

ReplyDeleteWow! Beautiful! What kind of loom is that? And where did you learn to weave?
ReplyDelete@Sarahbeth: Thank you! It is an Ashford rigid heddle loom. As for learning to weave, I taught myself! Youtube is a great help ;)
