Out of the mouth of babes.
I love hearing Audrey's voice. She has started talking all day long. It started awhile back with babbling and fake sentences. She'd walk up and look you square in the eyes and start some intense conversation that I couldn't understand. It was the cutest thing.
Then words came. Words I understood.
It was beautiful. Really beautiful.
Mama
Papa
Chocolate (dodate)
Hi
I love you (I-yuh)
Squirrel (oor)
Woof (oof)
Moo (mmmmmm)
Meow (high pitched 'mmm-mmm!')
What's that? (hut-dat?)
Lemonade (ah-men-ah)
thank you (duk-oo)
duck
quack
chicken (titen)
No
Hello
Egg
Water
Amen (sometimes)
Edit: Whoops! Forgot 'banana' 'sultana' and 'milo'.
Also forgot: 'yeah' and 'tickle'
You know. All the important stuff. She says 'thank you' every time we hand her something now and then follows it up with 'I love you'. And it kills me. Every time.
My heart is bursting right now. I love you, Audrey.
xoxo

ReplyDeleteFar out!
Chocolate. Love that she must hear that enough in your home to learn it! hehe.
hehe Yes. We've had a fair amount of chocolate come through these parts.... Don't even get her started on milo. ;)
DeleteThat's just precious! What a great list of first words, some might say she's got all the important ones down! I love you, yes, no, hello, chocolate!
ReplyDeletethats so awesome! OJ has particular 'phrases' in babble that only i understand. And i'm quite chuffed that one of the first words she has said consistently is 'amen' ;). She also can stand on the couch for ages, saying 'baas' when the busses go past. oh, and yes isn't 'yes', its 'yeah yeah yeah yeah' in an american accent.
ReplyDeleteAh, Orla! One of my favorite babies around. I could do a good visit with you guys right now. Miss you guys! :)
