Made It: DIY Chalkboard

I have a million creative ideas floating around my head. I've always been like that. A day dreamer. A crafter. It's hard to keep track of all my crafty ideas and even harder to put those ideas into action. I've decided to set these ideas into motion by creating and finishing one new thing each week! It could be a small project or a larger one that's been in the works for awhile. Sewing, knitting, crafting, building. It's all happening! I'm so excited for my new endeavor and have already started listing and prioritizing my projects.

This week I've made something that I've wanted to do for a long time! I made my own chalkboard from scratch.

I used the inside of an old cupboard that is lined with vintage paper. Such a cool find! (Thanks, husband.) I painted the face of the board with chalkboard paint. I mixed up some chalkboard paint myself using this tutorial on A Beautiful Mess.

This DIY was easy peasy and only took about 15 minutes! Now I have a pretty chalkboard that I can write the rest of my crafty to-do's on. ;)

Are you working on anything crafty at the moment?

  3. I love DIY chalkboards. Yours came out lovely. I did some small ones a few months ago and enjoyed how easy they were to make. Also love the vintage covering on the back - just darling!

  4. I so love the idea of committing to complete one project a week! I think if I planned it out that way, it wouldn't get so overwhelming (since I usually start thinking all at once "Jeesh, I have to finish this, and this, and this...") I love your creativity, Talia!
